Binder Setup

Notebook checks help us make sure students are staying on task and keeping up with their work. We will be doing notebook checks throughout the year. Here’s what your student needs:

  • 3 Ring Binder: 1 1/2″ works best.
  • 5 Dividers:
    • Tab 1: Grammar Grabber
    • Tab 2: Grammar Notes
    • Tab 3: Vocabulary
    • Tab 4: Literature
    • Tab 5: Writing

Here’s how they will be graded:

100%: Notebook is complete and has all required entries. Notebook is neat; effort in work is evident in all entries.
90%: Notebook is close to being complete, only missing 1 entry. Notebook is neat; effort in work is evident in all completed entries.
80%: Notebook is nearly complete, only missing up to 2 entries. Notebook is neat; effort in work is evident most of the time.
70%: Notebook is quite complete, may be missing up to 3 entries. Notebook is not very neat. Effort in work is evident in few entries.
60%: Notebook is not completed, missing up to 4 entries. Notebook is difficult to read due to sloppiness. Effort in work is not very evident.
50%: Notebook is very incomplete, missing more than 5 entries. Notebook is very difficult to read due to disorganization and sloppiness. Little to no color has been used, and effort in work is not at all evident.
0%: Notebook not turned in, no evidence of any work.
